Resolutions are SO 2011 - Pledge to Poop!

One of the few days I managed to MANAGE my time efficiently (probably because I’m still off work) I came across a post at Leigh Vs Laundry. She’s making a pledge this year. I like this WAY better than resolutions. I don’t do resolutions.

Meh, I take that back. I DO resolutions but then I promptly wad the paper up in a ball and practice my half kitchen court shot. For some reason it makes me much happier to make the list then destroy the list. There is a sense of freedom in such action, much the same as going sans underwear even when its 18 degrees outside holyfreezingcoldwhoha!  #movementforapantfreesociety  Aaaand I may or may not be the type of person that puts things on the list that I have previously accomplished just so I can start off with having items crossed off. Motivation…self esteem booster, no?!

I REALLY like the idea of a PLEDGE...it feels like there is more wiggle room for forgiveness if I didn't quite make it yesterday and no sense of doom that I can't soar above it tomorrow.

There is no failure only growth and learning and forward movement.

The interesting thing about allowing yourself to TAKE some time to evaluate and look back is that often times we find a renewed sense of excitement for things that once may have weighed us down, added stress or somehow lost the “fun” factor.  Joy hides in places from which we thought it had long ago departed.

Perspective is awesome.

We find we missed _______________________ (the people, the action itself, the time alone, the time togetherness, the taste of it- in moderation, the high afterwards, the satisfaction of accomplishment, the laughter, the frantic hastiness that propelled us to productivity, the outfit, the pride… YOU fill in the blank). You know what I’m talking about.

You’ve heard it a million times but the reality of it does not change;  there may not be a tomorrow – not for everyone. PLEDGE to take time to gain a little perspective and spend your time on things that move you in the direction you want to go and jump from there. Resolutions are SO 2011!

I PLEDGE:

To laugh more at myself (plethora of opportunities to practice)

Have more tickle fights with my family

SHOW my love just as often as I verbalize it

Eat a cookie once a week
(I’m starting that one right now! Alreading #WINNING)

Get my budget back on track and remove “Hooker” from my resume <--joking!

To poop more regularly

I never make resolutions, I know that I am the type of person who will ignore them just to be contrary (I hate people telling me what to do even if it's me doing the telling)

A pledge is better idea!

Also, joining the #movementforapantfreesociety !!

Yay...a fellow pledger! Thanks for the shout out! I like the cookie part...that's so doable. Maybe a fiber cookie? Here's to good poops in 2012!

Maybe put some oatmeal or flax seed in that cookie to help with the last one... just a thought. :)

I like pledges. SOOO much better than silly unkept resolutions. Besides, pledges somehow sound more powerful, don't they?

I pledge to poop more regularly also!

I also pledge to stay tired. Keep the bags under my eyes so long as Nathaniel doesn't allow me to sleep. I pledge to stay in my yoga pants 75% of the time only getting dressed when I have to leave my home.

This is starting to sound like my own pledge post.
